ExpoVolt
Exhibition intelligence in your pocket — capture first, organise later, and keep working even when the internet is unreliable.
Why it exists
Trade fairs generate more information than a phone gallery can organise.
During an exhibition, useful information arrives as business cards, product photos, brochures, handwritten notes and quick conversations. ExpoVolt is designed to capture that information quickly on a phone, preserve it offline, then turn it into structured business intelligence when connectivity returns.
Current capabilities
Images are resized and compressed to WebP on the phone to reduce mobile data usage.
IndexedDB queues captures safely and retries uploads when connectivity returns.
A self-hosted PaddleOCR worker extracts bilingual text from business cards and brochures.
OCR text and contact fields are editable so the user remains in control of the final record.
Reviewed captures can be classified into suppliers, agents, people and products of interest.
Field design principle
The capture workflow should never depend on good internet.
ExpoVolt is intentionally structured around local-first capture and asynchronous processing. The phone handles compression before upload; the VPS stores media, PostgreSQL records and OCR results; the user can continue capturing while OCR runs in the background.
